The title of this comic comes from The Smiths’ song, “There is a Light That Never Goes Out.”
You can buy and read the (super sad) breakup comic I made three years ago, Salvaged Parts.
A giant woo!!! to you both!
[SO NICE !!!]NGK]
This made me happy. It’s a strange feeling.
I’m just a fan whom you don’t know, but I wish you and John a steadfast love that will survive the ups, downs, and every-which-ways of married life. It’s an amazing ride – take it from this ol’ lady who’s been with her man for 35+ years so far.
This sent a shiver down my spine…in a good way. Congrats from a fan. And don’t let him do all the cooking, so we can read more of that side of you, ha ha…
Congratulations! I do like this photo. You both look so happy!
I’m very happy things worked out for you and I wish you the best of luck ✧
Was having a bad day until I read this. Thank you!
I’m actually crying a little, jeez.
I HATED how Salvaged Parts made me feel. I hated the brutality of it. I thought John was a real douche if you know what I mean. I hated the idea of this sort of dispassionate separation. Like “We’ve done the math and found that our best choice here is to end our love relationship.”
Anyway, I tell you this because I am so so so happy for you. What a beautiful change.
That’s so moving (and adorable)! Congrats and thank you for sharing (both of you)!
You made me teary eyed at work *shakes fist*
I hope only nice things for you both.
whooo good things happen to nice people sometimes, im glad this is your sometime!
Congratulations to you both, and thank you for sharing this deeply personal story
Lucy, I had never read your comics until a few minutes ago, when a friend sent me this link. I’m thankful he did it, and I’m thankful I read this right at this moment, when I’m going through a rough patch in my life. I just wanted you to know that you warmed my heart. Thank you for sharing this with us. I wish you and John all the happiness in the world. May the Universe shower you with blessings I hug you both!
I love happy endings! So happy for both of you. Alison Horstman
I ‘ve been a fan of your work for some time now and have read all of your comics. I am so very happy for you and wish you the best.
I felt so much for you two when you broke up… haven’t read your stuff in a while (since you disappeared from LJ), but rediscovered your work with this comic. This is just awesome, and unexpected, and I wish you both all the best. Go John, for finally coming to his senses (Or finding out he did want the same things as you after all).
